Jim Boozer

Master Jim Boozer is a 7th Dan in Tae Kwon Do. Master Boozer’s karate training began in the fall of 1960 at Oklahoma State University under the direction of Alan Lee, a graduate student at that university and a Japan-trained Shotokan black belt. After completing his university degree he moved to Arlington, Texas, and put his training on hold for several years.

Master Boozer began studying Tae Kwon Do in 1980 and received his 1st Dan Black Belt in 1987 from Dr. Brax Boyd. In 2011, he received his 6th Dan from Grandmaster Brax Boyd. He received his 7th dan on September 9, 2017.  His teaching career began as a brown belt in 1982, and, as a black belt, has taught more than 2,000 students, and awarded over 60 black belts.

He has also studied Judo and Ju-Jitsu and has added many of these techniques to his self-defense techniques. Master Boozer has officiated in various capacities in the majority of the tournaments held by the Traditional Karate League, hundreds of kata and kumite matches, in positions of timekeeper, scorekeeper, judge, and head referee.
